Many library staff may already be aware that NUsearch, the library’s implementation of the Primo discovery system, is going through an important upgrade to Primo VE. Primo VE will become live on the library site on Monday November 2nd. While there are no changes that are immediately apparent to the user, Primo VE does allow much easier back end management and paves the way for Northwestern to implement new features in NUsearch that will meet the needs of our user community. In addition, new works just added to the catalog will now appear in NUsearch within 15 to 20 minutes of their addition to ALMA. Currently we have had to wait a full day before these new records to appear in NUsearch.
